Wir fuhren entlang des Colorado River in eine der gr\u00f6\u00dften Recreation Areas von Arizona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lake Havasu City ist die Stadt der Boote und Wohnmobile. Ein H\u00e4ndler neben dem anderen. Der Colorado ist hier die Lebensader f\u00fcr alle m\u00f6glichen Formen der Freizeitgestaltung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Buckskin Mountain Statepark<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wir aber hatten jetzt in etwa Halbzeit auf unserer Nordamerika-Rundreise und in dieser Zeit ca. zwei Drittel der geplanten Gesamtfahrstrecke (rd. 23.000 KM) gefahren. Wir bekamen sogar etwas Regen ab, als wir Richtung Quartzsite weiterfuhren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Quartzsite<\/strong> &#8211; <strong>Home of the Snowbirds<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quartzsite ist weltbekannt nicht nur durch die dort vorhandenen Mineralien in vielf\u00e4ltigster Form. Es ist auch jedes Jahr ab Januar Anlaufstelle f\u00fcr tausende sogenannter &#8222;Snowbirds&#8220;. So werden die amerikanischen Rentner bezeichnet, die zur \u00dcberwinterung in die W\u00fcste von Arizona fahren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wir schauten uns das ganze Gel\u00e4nde an. Es waren schon einige Reisemobile vor Ort.  Hier wird mitten in der W\u00fcste eine komplette Infrastruktur f\u00fcr die Besucher aufgebaut. Man mu\u00df sich bei einer der Meldestellen registrieren und bekommt dann f\u00fcr 14 Tage einen kostenlosen Stellplatz zugewiesen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Au\u00dferdem besteht die M\u00f6glichkeit, etwa 3 Meilen hinter Quarzsite auf BLM-Land wild zu campen. Anmeldung ist hier nicht erforderlich. Es gibt auch keinerlei Infrastruktur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Da wir keine 14 Tage bleiben wollten, zogen wir die 2. Variante vor. BLM bedeutet &#8222;Bureau of Land Management&#8220;.  Das BLM verwaltet die Bundeseigenen Landfl\u00e4chen. Und wir wurden von der ver\u00e4nderten Landschaft v\u00f6llig \u00fcberrascht. Nach hunderten Meilen Ger\u00f6llw\u00fcste pl\u00f6tzlich Ackerbau. Alles sattgr\u00fcn und gut bew\u00e4ssert. Es sah teilweise aus wie im M\u00fcnsterland. Mit diesem krassen Unterschied hatten wir so nicht gerechnet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Weiterfahrt f\u00fchrte uns dann nach Kalifornien. Und hier gab es wieder eine spektakul\u00e4re Ver\u00e4nderung der Landschaft. Wir durchfuhren ein Sahara-\u00e4hnliches Sandd\u00fcnengebiet von riesigen Ausma\u00dfen. Das &#8222;never&#8220; in den Lyrics ist auf jeden Fall gelogen. Wir erlebten in der Nach einen Thunderstorm mit stundenlangem Starkregen. Dabei gab es Windb\u00f6en, die unseren Sprintie so durchsch\u00fcttelten, das man glaubte, auf hoher See zu sein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Morgens war dann der Spuk vorbei. Nur die Flash flood-Senken in den Stra\u00dfen waren noch voll Wasser.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Durch den Thunderstorm hatte es einen Temperatursturz gegeben und es wurde Kalifornien-untypisch lausekalt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Yoshua Tree Nationalpark<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wir steuerten direkt das Visitorcenter des Yoshua Tree Nationalpark an. Trotz des schlechten Wetters waren im Park selbst alle Campgrounds belegt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wir fanden au\u00dferhalb einen sch\u00f6nen &#8222;Full hook up&#8220;-Platz.  Auf dem blieben wir 2 Tage und fuhren von dort in den Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dieser Nationalpark ist sehr gro\u00dffl\u00e4chig, liegt bei Palm Springs in der kalifornischen W\u00fcste und ist im Vergleich zu anderen Parks nicht so spektakul\u00e4r, hat aber durch die abwechslungsreiche Landschaft und eben die eigenartigen Yoshuab\u00e4ume seinen eigenen Reiz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wie in den USA \u00fcblich kann man an den Sehensw\u00fcrdigkeiten kleine Trails laufen und &#8211; wenn man will &#8211; auch gr\u00f6\u00dfere Wanderungen unternehmen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/37515-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-718\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sprintiesworldtour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/37515-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/sprintiesworldtour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/37515-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sprintiesworldtour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/37515-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/sprintiesworldtour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/37515-1536x865.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/sprintiesworldtour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/37515-2048x1153.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/sprintiesworldtour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/37515-1140x641.jpg 1140w, https:\/\/sprintiesworldtour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/37515-540x304.jpg 540w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption>Yoshua Trees<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Wir besuchten den Park zwei Tage hintereinander und liefen alle Trails. Teilweise kam man sich vor, wie in einem botanischen Garten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fazit:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unter den vielen Nationalparks ist er nicht der spektakul\u00e4rste, aber wenn man ihn bei seiner Routenplanung wegl\u00e4sst, entgeht einem was.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Das n\u00e4chste Ziel war das Death Valley, das wir vom Joshua Tree NP aus direkt anfuhren.
